This is an excellent post. Most people look to the market, rather than themselves, when they fail. These are great ways we can all improve.
Denver Cereal - That's exactly right. If you're providing good content and you have a good marketing strategy, you will be successful.
I also have to say this. With many of my blogs I have had problems. I remember when I first began blogging. I was doing it for fun. This is when I had the most success.
When I started to blog to make money, I made less than I was before.
I started blogging again and blogging for all the right reasons. I started blogging for fun. Since then, I have began to build up my success.
Another "How your Blog Fails" point is not blogging constantly. I personally learned this lesson. Even if your getting good SEO coverage you can quickly loose your reader-base (people who return to your site again and again) by not blogging for a week or two. It doesn't take much to keep them going but if you don't update they quickly forget about you.
The period is 2-weeks of not blogging = dead blog. Then your almost starting from scratch again.
Tesseract. I greatly agree. I think 3 days is a good enough vacation. Any more then that and you better hope your site is just in it for the search engines.
I do the staying up all nite stuff!...lol ...since i started blogging i have slept only a couple of hours each day seriously especially when my blogs started showing up on Google than i was like yipee and decided to go on a 18 hour blogging extravaganza!!...In this time i made a couple good blogs and a couple of whacked out ones that i have since closed to the public!( hey in my 15th hour of blogging i was starting to go a little nutty!...they looked good then and then after i went to sleep and looked at them a again i was like yea what was i thinking lol if anyone wants the link to one of them ill give it to ya its a invite only whacked out blog lmao!,,,,my second blogging problem is i dont use punctuation or grammar which is a bad habit especially when u want professional websites to link to u!
Yeah. I have been that way also man for real. Managing one blog and marketing it is hard enough. I don't get how people manage 4 or 5. Crazy people in my opinion. Wha'ts the blog you're currently running?
i know what ur saying i currently have 6 blogs but im gonna delete a couple and work on the two good ones that i got and that are linked to other ppl sites and that are gaining in popularity i guess ppl that have more than a cpl blogs have there original blogs established with steady traffic couse im learning if u want good steady traffic then u have to go get it i got one blog with steady traffic and its only a cpl days old!...i dont know if or when i should put ads on it couse i dont want the sites im linked to to pull out but as i watch the traffic grow im getting a little antsy couse this is the whole reason i did this blog in the first place.... decisions decisions they could make or break ya man...like i said before taylor i think ur a smart kid well not a kid but i dont want to give out my new blog couse i dont want to have 1000s of other bloggers copying me if u want ill give u some links to a couple of other blogs im working on in ur inbox i dont wanna be spamming ur site with my links
1. I think putting ads on your blog is fine depending on certain circumstances... Mainly, is your traffic organic? If so, throw up the ads.
