Creating a Blogger custom domain name is easy once you know how to do it.

Blogger Custom Domain Part 1: The Search

  1. Log in to your Blogger account.
  2. Pick a blog you'd like to purchase a custom domain name for.
  3. Now Click Settings.
  4. Then go to publishing.
  5. On that page click the custom domain link.

Blogger Custom Domain Part 2: Purchasing

  1. Type in the URL in which you're desiring.
  2. Click the "Check Availability" button.
  3. Follow on screen instructions from there.

Blogger Custom Domain Name: Special Note

  • It can sometimes take a few days for Blogger to catch up and actually begin using your custom domain name.
  • Blogger will automatically re-direct people from your old Blogspot URL to your new Dot Com URL once it catches up and begins to use your new custom domain name.
  • It's better to purchase your domain name through GoDaddy. (Tutorial is soon to come.)

How did you do the advanced setting for blogger, i bout a domain through godaddy rather than blogger but how do i set it up to point to my domain name? I read the instructions, do i just change the cname > www to point to ghs.google.com?

When i log onto domain manager it already has www but its pointing to @ (my domain).

Thanks if you can help!

Yes. It sounds like you have it about right. I'll make a video soon on how to do it if you can't get it. But it sounds like you're correct.

After I buy my custom domain, can I start to make the blog?
What I had to pay - after I pay 10 USD for the domain - to make my site availabile?
Please, help me.

Diana -

Question 1 - Yes. You can start to make your blog after you buy the custom domain.

Question 2 - Your site will be available at it's new domain in 3 to 4 days.

I've written some more instructions which include A record support here: blogger custom domains with A records

I actually haven't heard of A records, but if it helps my readers, thanks for the link.
