Getting Diggs on Digg can truly be a pain in the ass. Especially when you're submitting articles that look like ass. Truth be told, getting Diggs on Digg isn't all that hard to do. You just have to submit something that's actually "Diggable" and enjoyable to the reader's eyes.
With that being said, here are the top 10 ways to get Diggs on Digg.
Number 10 - Put the Digg button on your site.
A lot of you just said, "No, really?" "Duh" is right. However, you'd be surprised at how many people don't put Digg on their site. I'm not a fan of the huge Digg button, but some place to allow your users to click to submit your site to Digg is always a good idea. The best spot to place your Digg button is usually at the end of each of your articles. However, be sure that you don't shove the Digg button into your readers face because they really won't care to Digg it if you do.
Number 9 - Digg other people's work.
Digg other people's work. You'll find that Digging other people will get you Diggs in return. Not too hard to figure out.
Number 8 - Build a Clique of Friends
Don't be like like Patrick Star over to the left. Build a huge list of friends. Remember that it's not the quantity that counts. It's the quality. Make sure your Digg buddies have the same interests as yourself, otherwise you're just wasting your time.
Number 7 - "Picturfy" your articles.
Number 6 - Making titles interesting...
Nobody wants to read, "There was a fight yesterday." However, everyone wants to read, "Check out this kick ass fight video!" See the difference? Make titles that are interesting yet still relate to your article, video, or image.
Number 5 - Correctly categorize your post
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is submitting your content in the wrong section of Digg. "Microsoft Dies." Let's submit it to, "Entertainment > Celebrity." See what I mean? Make sure you submit your content to the correct area of Digg.
Number 4 - Talk about Digg itself.
Digging an article about Digg is almost genius simply because everyone can somehow relate to the topic. For everyone on Digg is using Digg correct? With that being said, it only makes sense that an article written about Digg itself will automatically receive a lot of Diggs.
Number 3 - Build a "Top List."
Number 2 - Unique and Quality Content
Don't put up garbage posts that have already been posted about a million times. If you absolutely have to, be sure to put your own spin to it. Don't copy other people's work by "restating" their sentences. Try to make every article you write your own. Also be sure that it will somehow contribute to the reader.
