Blogging on a Niche Don't overdo it

I recently did a post about ShoeMoney and how he had no niche. I was pretty much questioning his entire blog.
I mean, as bloggers, you learn from day one that you absolutely need to choose a niche if you're going to gain subscribers and be successful... Or do you?
Well, I was talking to my boy from Muscle Monsters and he seemed to come up with the same theory as I did. ShoeMoney blogs about multiple subjects for traffic. And actually, it makes sense. Seriously think about this. By blogging about multiple topics you can get
  • More traffic
  • More readers
  • Thus, more private ad sales.
This is definitely awesome and I don't know why I didn't think of it before. I mean, let's be honest with each other. "Blogging Tips" isn't the most popularly searched phrase on Google. However, something like "Iphone Recall" may cause a spike in traffic.

Don't overdo or under-do the "niche" thing.

So here's the deal, it's actually a good idea to go a little off topic sometimes. It's good to mix it up. However, still make sure you can somehow relate the new subject back to your original one.
For example: If you have a blog about building muscle, it's sometimes okay to talk about acne or UFC stuff occasionally.
