Less Ads More Money AdSense

You've probably heard this rumor before. I believe that JenSense did a post about it. What happened to her anyway? Well, ask for the rumor, it's simply a rumor. Less AdSense ads does not mean more money with AdSense and let me tell you why. Firstly, you have to understand how AdSense works. You have to also know how the bidding process for AdWords works. Once you get this, you can start making more money with AdSense.

Ever wondered why ad "A" pays more than ad "B"?

With AdSense,
  1. The Ad Unit that comes first in the HTML will always pay out the most money per click.
  2. To go into greater detail, the AdSense link at the top of the first AdSense unit will always pay out the most per click.
  3. As you go down the page, the value of each ad unit and more specifically, each ad link in that ad unit decreases in value.

So why did JenSense think less is more with AdSense?

IMPORTANT!!! READ THIS PARAGRAPH! She probably didn't understand how AdSense works and my best bet would be this: JenSense probably made a very common AdSense mistake. She had an advertisement with a lower CTR displaying above an AdSense advertisement with a higher CTR. Thus, the value of her most clicked ads were lower because they were second in the HTML.
  • You want your most clicked ad to display first in the HTML for maximum AdSense revenue.
PS: Link units don't apply or affect anything so don't worry about them.

Less Ads means more money with AdSense?

MYTH BUSTED: As long as your most clicked ad is the one on top and then as you go down the page, your CTR goes down with it, then you'll be fine. Also, if you were wondering, HTML is read from left to right and top to bottom. Hope you enjoyed these tips. Use them well and be sure to tell your friends. Also be sure to check out my AdSense Tips Guide. This goes over basically everything you need to know about AdSense and making money with it.

Nice rundown on the topic. I wasn't quite sure where you were going with this until it clued in that the second ad unit could be displayed higher on the page due to formatting issues.

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the read. Some people agreeing with me on this and some are not, but from experience, it seems to me that this is pretty logical.

School - I guess it all depends really, but I have found that it does seem to work better under certain circumstances.
