I was reading a post over at Duo Blogger the other day. He had this post called AdSense Misconceptions. In one of the comments he left on his post he stated,
"I don’t understand why one block should contain the highest paying advertisements :-). Google displays the most relevant advertisements on all your blocks - at least, that would be the most reasonable."
This is a very good point, but at the same time, it goes against what I previously stated in my post, less ads more money AdSense. In this post I stated,
"The Ad Unit that comes first in the HTML will always pay out the most money per click."
AdSense arranges ads based on relevancy
Here's what I have noticed. The more ad blocks you have on your page, the less relevant the ads will become as you go down your page in the HTML. So that's a fact. The less ads you have on your page, the more relevant your ads will become as a whole.
AdSense ads appear based on relevancy and cost
To me, this makes the most sense. AdSense ads appear based on relevancy first. However, if two AdSense ads are both considered as having the same amount of relevancy, the AdSense algorithm then goes to the CPC or the Cost Per Click that the advertiser is willing to pay. Whichever advertiser is willing to pay the most will snag the top spot on the ad unit.

Hey Taylor,
thanks for mentioning me. It's a very interesting topic indeed. We bloggers will unfortunately never know how the Adsense system exactly works. We can only make reasonable thoughts.
I disagree with the lower relevancy close to the bottom of your website. The ads are relevant to the content surrounding them.
And yes, I agree that Google most likely picks the most relevant ad first and will then choose the one with the highest bid (CPC).
Btw. HD rocks. What kind of camera are you using to record your videos?
thanks,

Well, I will have to continue to look for an answer. Lol, but like you said, we can only guess.
I am using a Kodak Zi6. You can get them at Walmart for 159.99 USD.
Note: Bedroom lighting sucks when it comes to this camera. So be sure that you have natural lighting from outside or work lights pointing on you or the subject.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

Yeah. I recognize your blog URL. I just checked out your site. I see you have an ad unit below your title. So you don't get banned, you may want to put the word "sponsored links" above your ads that display below your post titles.
