I was looking at some popular blogs today. Dosh Dosh stood out the most. Anyway, I noticed something quite interesting about his blog and the link build strategy he uses.
It seems to me that Dosh Dosh builds templates, gives them away for free, and then has a link pointing to his site in the bottom of each template.
Building backlinks by creating blog templates is something that's pretty time consuming, but at the same time, it's definitely worth doing if you have the time to do so. I've began doing it. I have my 3 column blogger templates, but I only currently have two.
Building templates for free links
- Choose a blogging platform to build the template for.
- Build your template
- Place a link to your site and to your template page in the footer of your templates. a. Be sure to use correct anchor text for your link titles.
- Select a standard title for your template. a. "Three column template" b. "Two column template" ...
- Spread the word. a. Use link building strategies to build links. b. Use Fast Blog Finder to build links.
If you follow the above tips, you will get loads of free backlinks pointing towards your site. I usually don't do more than one tip a day, but I figured I would let you guys know about this.

Don't forget to special code the footer to make it difficult for the average user to just delete the link, as most normally do.
I wouldn't know how to go about doing that. Could you elaborate?
I have no idea either, coding is so not my thing. You may want to get with another template theme designer.
I know Adam from http://www.creadiv.com/ does them, along with that special footer coding.
He explained it to us (his readers) but it was way over my head. LOL
Oh btw, I got your email, I just haven't had a chance to reply. :)
Thanks for letting me know. I'll have to check his site out. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this info. Free links are cool, but effort should be put into it to be successful!
Effort sucks. Lol. I just like creating quality content.
