Blogging Success Supply and Demand

Have you ever noticed that some of the blogs that you create build traffic naturally better than others? I was looking at my Analytics the other day and I noticed that my Get Rid of Acne website had almost just as much traffic as Video Blogging Tips after only being live for a 3 week period of time.
The graph below represents the internet and the demand for specific topics related to the supply provided for them. You will notice that as the demand for a topic rises, so does the supply for the same topic. In rare cases, you may find a niche or keyword phrase that's in little supply, but highly demanded. If this is a topic you enjoy writing about, this is where you'll come in.
Blogging Success Supply and Demand The conclusion: blogging success is greatly based upon Supply and Demand.

Blog success based upon Supply & Demand makes sense.

  • No Demand - You could have the best blog in the world, but if nobody cares to read it, then there's really no point in writing it.
  • High Demand | Low Supply - On the other hand, you could simply have an "o.k." blog, but if everyone researches your niche, then you'll always be building traffic.
  • High Demand | High Supply - Finally, you could be in a niche with too much competition. Maybe the niche is high in demand, but there is simply too much competition to get any traffic.

Don't make the number one blogging mistake!

With all of that said, wouldn't you agree that the number one blogging mistake would have to be creating a blog that nobody cares to read about? Let's face it, if I wrote more about weight loss more than I did about blogging tips then I would probably be making a lot more money. Agreed?

Choose your blogs niche wisely.

Make sure you're writing about a topic that's highly researched. If it's not highly researched, you better be ready to work your way to the top of Google, otherwise you're going to be greatly disappointed with your results.

Thanks... I won't delete your comment because you took the time to leave it, but just so you know, spamming people won't get you anywhere.

Great post taylor. I didn't realize your acne blog has only been live for 3 weeks. That is quite impressive!

It's been live longer than 3 weeks, but at the time it was getting pretty good traffic. Not as much as VBT. I kind of exaggerated, but still a lot.

haha Wise remarks! :) I think for as long as people refuse to eat and exercise wisely, there's always a market for "slimming" products (which is a bit unfortunate cos keeping fit can be as natural as free if only one to choose it, except for those with genetic disorders).

For me, I think I have too many "categories" in my blog, which waters down some stronger blog entries!
