Long Tail Keywords rank in search engines

I wanted to steer away from the Social Networking for Traffic part of my blog for a day to discuss some tips that will help you rank a little higher in the search engines. When you first begin blogging and even as your career progresses, you will want to target long tail keywords that allow you to rank higher in the Search Engines.
The fact behind the process can be explained through a simple example. Let's say that you want to start a blog about acne. As you all know, ranking for the keyword of "acne" alone would be quite difficult due to the fact that there are already several other websites ranking well for that keyword. However, if you target a long tail keyword such as, "clear acne naturally," or something else of that stature, you will begin to see yourself rank in the top spots of the search engines. Smart Bloggerz created tips for ranking well for specific keywords. I definitely recommend checking it out because it directly correlates to this post.

Hittail is invaluable for longtail keyword search. It suggests words for you to use based on past search history.

Hitail? Is that a program? I haven't heard of it, but I will have to check it out and review it.

I made a simple post about hitail a few months ago.

I checked out HitTail. Seems pretty tight, but nothing I couldn't do with StatCounter / Analytics / or the Google Webmaster Tools.
