I was on John Chow yesterday and I saw this great video about why he loves blogging. John goes over how blogging isn't just about the money! Instead, John states that blogging is about the freedom you earn allowing you to spend time more with your family and do the things that you truly enjoy. This is truly a touching video.

Increasing AdSense CTR - In post Ads

Where do you think that AdSense ads are more likely to be clicked?

1. In sidebar navigation?
2. In the actual content area?

AdSense ads are more likely to be clicked and have a higher CTR in the actual content area of all websites. This goes for forums, blogs, and everything in between. The key to increasing AdSense CTR is to put the ads where the user will be looking at your page the most. Thus, you want to put your ads in the content.

Increasing AdSense CTR - Content Wrapping

As you can see from the above image, Dave Taylor did a great job at making his AdSense ads look like a part of his site. You can also see that he is using my advice when it comes to the size of the advertisement and the colors of each individual aspect of the ad. Now for the tips... If you really want to increase your AdSense CTR place 3 ad blocks in the content area itself.

1. 336x280 below post title (don't break tos: post titles above adsense ads)
2. 300x250 in the middle of your post wrapped within your content.
3. 336x280 at the end of your article.

Many people are resorting to online dating because they feel it is

1. More efficient
2. And easier to find a match.

This is due to the advanced technology of each individual service that usually takes time to find you matches with similar interest of your own. It's no wonder people are resorting to online dating. It's the easy way to find a loved one you will have things in common with.

September of 2004 was a month of history as Darren Rowse first began blogging on ProBlogger.Net. 2004 also served another purpose. 2004 was the year in which blogging really became mainstream. Attempting to take anything away from Darren or his blog would be simply absurd. Darren is the man. However, any monkey could be in Darren's shoes right now. Darren simply got there first. He had created a popularly searched topic with almost no competition when it came to ranking in the search engines. (image credit: gold)

Darren Rowse is no smarter than any of us.

I am no smarter, Darren is no smarter, John Chow is no smarter, and Blogger Noob is definitely no smarter. (Just playing Noob) It's all about the SERP's guys and we all know it. If you hit a niche that's popularly searched, has little to no competition, and you have half decent writing skills, then you'll likely blow other blogs out of the water. It's like buying a stock low and then selling it high. That's just what Darren Rowse did back in 2004, but he's truly into holding onto his investment for the long haul. Darren Rowse in today's blogging world...

Had Darren Rowse started ProBlogger today, he likely would have been overshadowed and filtered out by all of the other blogging tip based blogs. He would not be as popular and he definitely would not be making a 6 figure income. Today's blogging world is different. You have to work to rank on Google. You have to get inbound links to your site. No longer are you the only person on the web discussing a single subject. Instead, hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people could be discussing the same topic as yourself. And when that is the case, you have to learn how to write good content and get more quality links to your site so you can rank higher in the SERPs. Darren Rowse is a Good Man

So it's true. If Darren had started blogging about blogging in Today's world, he'd probably be living a completely different life. Alternatively, if you or I would have began blogging about blogging or whatever we blog about back in 2004, we could also be living different lives. In a sense, blogging is like real estate. You have to get in early and you have to be in it for the long haul.

The Xbox 360 blog theme is my favorite theme out of them all. It actually got me thinking about creating a Madden Football blog simply because I have beat my friend who plays the game 24/7 the last 4 games I have played him.

Solving the Flash over Aweber Lightbox Problem

It turns out that AWeber's CEO Tom Kulzer stumbled upon my review. Mr. Kulzer was very sincere and apologetic for the poor support at which I had received from his team. What is AWeber?

AWeber is a popular program used by many web bloggers and larger companies around the world. The program was created to increase the popularity of a website via,

• Email Newsletters
• Website Sign Up forms

When you're interacting with your readers through different sources you're that much more likely to keep them coming back for more. It makes sense to me and it obviously makes sense to AWeber. However, the problem isn't the idea of the program, but it's the way it actually works.

AWeber Lightbox and Youtube Issue

AWeber has this huge issue. For some reason, any media such as Youtube or anything else of that sort will actually display above the AWeber Lightbox sign up form rendering this part of the program completely pointless. It just so happens that the AWeber Lightbox sign up form is the most professional looking sign up form available. The other sign up forms are in form of a pop-up, pop-under, or are simply in form of an inline placement on the page itself. Too bad people have pop-up and pop-under blockers. I contacted AWeber support on the lightbox issue and they told me that it was my problem. I told them that John Chow was having the same issue and they still said that it was my problem. Man, this support is about as good as Comcast's customer support was back no less than 3 weeks ago.

Is AWeber worth it?

Spending $20.00 a month on a program that isn't fully working is like spending money to use a half broken bathroom with no toilet paper.

Contacted a 'Noob' for professional help...

I contacted BloggerNoob for a solution to the problem. If you guys aren't familiar with the big Noob then you should know one thing. He's dang good at making money online. Just check out his income report. His online net worth is $13,712.26. That's a little bit better than my measely $1060.02 .

Blogger Noobs solution to PayPerPost...

As for the solution to the PayPerPost lost PageRank problem... Blogger Noob says to simply buy a new domain with a PageRank. Work that blog for 3 months and see if you can add any extra PR and then submit that blog to PayPerPost. (Of course, making sure your blog meets the PayPerPost requirements is always important.) Once you have your new domain added into the PayPerPost program, you'll have until the next Google PageRank Update to use this blog until you lose your page rank once again.

Kill one PageRank; Work up another!

Enjoy your page rank while you can for the blog that has it. And while you are doing paid posts on that blog which is soon to die, be sure to be building up PR for another blog. That way when blog number one does in fact die, you have blog number two up and ready to run because it's now compliant with the PayPerPost TOS 3 month rule. Continue to repeat this pattern and you will continue to make money with PayPerPost.

Other helpful info about PPP and Domain Names

If you know nothing about PayPerPost, check out this article and video on How to make money with PayPerPost. Also be sure to check out Blogger Noobs, "Almost complete guide to web forums" for more information on purchasing domains! PLEASE NOTE: Just so I am a little more clear, you must have your blog for 3 months and it must meet the rest of the PPP requirements before your blog will be approved.

Why "don't drop and run" doesn't work.

Have you ever seen the image, "Don't Drop and Run?" No offense guys, but this makes me want to get out faster. "Don't Drop and Run," is another way of implying, "Nobody cares to read what I have to say. If you could please just click a few pages on my site and maybe leave a comment, that'd be great. It'd also give me at least a little faith that people actually care to read what I have to say."

Give your readers reasons to stay!

If you're an Entrecard user especially, you can lower your bounce rate by making little special offerings and placing them right under your Entrecard widget. Instead of "Don't Drop and Run," the following quotes seem a lot more interesting and effective when it comes to lowering your bounce rate. Instead of saying, "Don't Drop and Run," say something like:

• "Win 100 bucks! Click Here!"
• "Get a higher page rank! Click Here!"

Or, simply take your best article for the week like:

• Miley Cyrus Bathing Suit? Click Here!"
• Barrack Obama is a Rapper? Click Here!"

Lower Bounce Rate Guarantee.

I almost guarantee your bounce rate will lower after doing what I have just told you. I have found that being successful online means benefiting your reader in as many ways as you can possibly imagine. In order to do this, you sometimes have to put yourself in your readers shoes. Would you rather:

1. "Not drop and run?"
2. Or stay for a chance to win 100 bucks?

Entrecarding your way to a lower bounce rate!

If your blog truly does mean something, people will stay. Whether they're coming from Entrecard or not, if you have a good blog, people will stay. You just have to provide them with a good reason to do so.

Healthy Living is run by Robin Baker. Robin Specializes in giving out nutritional and weight loss tips. Robin also has an online store called Shop Herbal Life. PS3 Div X allows you to download Movie Trailers to your computer with the click of a button. The site seems relatively new and I couldn't find an about page, but if you're into movies, definitely check out PS3 Div X. A Nice Place in the Sun discusses humorous life stories and memories. It's also a great place to find reviews of Children's Books. As of October 19th, 2008, A Nice Place in the sun has over 90 subscribers so be sure to check it out. Wolverine Hacks is an awesome place for checking out hacks for BlogSpot blogs. I was looking at his page and he had some awesome widget tips and many others in which you will find greatly useful if you're using Blogger. Super Coupon Girl teaches you how to get great deals with coupons. The lessons are written by a girl hence the name: Super Coupon Girl. I have much love for this girl simply because she is based out of my home state of Oregon. Not to mention the great website in which she is running. Keep up the good work! Computing and Internet Tech is a relatively new website. It discusses technological computer features and inside "thingys." I wouldn't even really know how to review this site just because I am not that smart. However, if you are, be sure to check it out.

However, this doesn't take away from the fact that Turnip of Power has some great content. Aside from Entrecard, Turnip of Power is big on Interviews with popular internet entrepreneurs and also big on teaching marketing tutorials. The content is unique, easy to follow, and really extremely fun to read.

When I interviewed Blogger Noob earlier this year I asked him if he had any advice for fellow bloggers. He said, "Be creative. Don't try to follow your blogging heroes." Although Blogger Noob's income doesn't match that of any of the top Bloggers in the world, it is still in the estimated range of around $10,000 - $20,000 dollars a year. Not too bad for one big Noob.

When I asked Rockfuse what he believed the most important thing was when it came to SERP's he said the following, "Speaking from my experience, and strictly speaking only about ranking for a keyword, links are the most important thing. (when it comes to SERP rankings.)" Rockfuse dot com alone makes about $300-$500 dollars a month using a variety of affiliate programs.
