Firefox Sucks - randomly crashes

Sunday, November 30, 2008

Since before the beginning of time, Firefox has always been the browser to use. However, ever since the release of Google Chrome, it seems like Firefox has really gone bad. I mean, I never thought I would say this.... but out of all the browsers, I have decided to resort to Safari. Safari is better than Firefox, but it still has some issues.
So I have decided to resort to Safari. That is true. And I must admit, Safari is great for browsing the web and viewing Youtube videos. It didn't crash on me once. However, Safari has some other issues that I would like to be solved. For instance, in Safari
  • You can't use the find feature in Blogger HTML.
  • You get weird "apple" html in your Blogger posts.
  • You can't read Blogger html because it's so small.

A browser for Bloggers and a browser for Browsers

If you're going to be browsing the web, I recommend Safari. If you have Blogger HTML to deal with, I recommend Firefox. I just don't get why we have to use two browsers. Firefox used to be way sweet, but now Firefox sucks because it randomly crashes. I mean, I don't know what's better anymore, Firefox or IE? However, I do know this... They're both better than Comcast Customer Service.

Page one of Google for my name

Saturday, November 29, 2008

I was looking at my StatCounter today and I noticed something cool. Somebody found me by typing in my name into Google. Granted, they were probably looking for the singer named Taylor Thompson, but I think it's pretty sweet that I will soon be ranking above a singer in the search engines. What's the importance of getting on page one of Google for your name?
All the "Professionals" are on page one of Google for their name. Page one of Google for my name
  • If you type in Darren Rowse, Problogger comes up.
  • If you type in Matt Cutts, then Matt Cutts dot Com comes up.
By ranking on page one of Google for my name, I will also gain extra traffic. Plus, if people only remember my name, but not my site name, they can find me in that way.

Ranking on page one of Google depends on...

Ranking on page one of Google can sometimes be hard and it can sometimes be difficult. It all depends on the
  • Popularity of your topic.
  • Quality and the number of inbound links you have compared to competition.
  • Relevancy of your site compared to its inbound links' anchor text.

How to rank on page one of Google for anything..

Like I said above, some topics are easier to rank for than others. The more you know about your topic, the easier it will be to rank for it. I personally like to use Fast Blog Finder when trying to get high page ranked backlinks. Then of course you have my How to get backlinks article which will show you all the tactics I use in link building. You will also learn how to rank on page one of Google in that article.

Blogging on a Niche Don't overdo it

Blogging on a Niche Don't overdo it

I recently did a post about ShoeMoney and how he had no niche. I was pretty much questioning his entire blog.
I mean, as bloggers, you learn from day one that you absolutely need to choose a niche if you're going to gain subscribers and be successful... Or do you?
Well, I was talking to my boy from Muscle Monsters and he seemed to come up with the same theory as I did. ShoeMoney blogs about multiple subjects for traffic. And actually, it makes sense. Seriously think about this. By blogging about multiple topics you can get
  • More traffic
  • More readers
  • Thus, more private ad sales.
This is definitely awesome and I don't know why I didn't think of it before. I mean, let's be honest with each other. "Blogging Tips" isn't the most popularly searched phrase on Google. However, something like "Iphone Recall" may cause a spike in traffic.

Don't overdo or under-do the "niche" thing.

So here's the deal, it's actually a good idea to go a little off topic sometimes. It's good to mix it up. However, still make sure you can somehow relate the new subject back to your original one.
For example: If you have a blog about building muscle, it's sometimes okay to talk about acne or UFC stuff occasionally.

Does ShoeMoney Niche Blog?

Friday, November 28, 2008

ShoeMoney is the man that has
  • The $100,000 AdSense check.
  • The 30,000 + subscribers.
The man that writes about things like, "The Festival of Trees," or how he had a dream about how he was, "Busted in a Drunk Driving Homicide."
Does ShoeMoney Niche Blog?

What in the world is ShoeMoney about?

Actually, by looking at the home page of ShoeMoney's site, I really have no idea what he's really about. He has some SEO tools to offer and he has some informational posts, then he goes and discusses the Brock Lesnar vs Randy Couture UFC Fight? "Huh?" is right. That's exactly what I said.
In all honesty, if you're looking for tips on how you can build a better blog, ShoeMoney has the content, but he also has a lot of garbage in between. His blog is all over the place. Let's pause for a minute... Why you hating? You're probably thinking, this is a trash post. Taylor, why are you hating on ShoeMoney? Here's the deal, ShoeMoney has some great stuff and I especially love his videos. But why are we posting about UFC and trees when we should be discussing categories that fall under more of the correct niche? Maybe I am going too far out of my way here, but I honestly don't understand what
  • SEO
  • UFC
  • Drunk Driving
and Mountain Dew trees have in common.

ShoeMoney = Entertainer?

ShoeMoney has great stuff, but again, you have to dig around a bit if you want to find what you're looking for. This is not a hate post against Shoe because I truly love some of the content that he provides. I just don't understand the logic of his topics? I think it's safe to say that we can call ShoeMoney one of the more Entertaining Bloggers on the web. He's like a Pro Blogger that's not afraid to mix it up and simply be himself. Still, I would like to see more about blogging and other related topics than I would the UFC stuff. Seriously, do you know anybody that says, "Hey. I can't wait for ShoeMoney to do another UFC post? Or hey, "I can't wait for ShoeMoney to do another post about those Mountain Dew Trees!" Let's face it, probably not. Still, I am constantly visiting ShoeMoney's site for tips and entertainment. In my eyes, ShoeMoney is an entertainer and since that's the case, he's definitely accomplishing the task. PS: To answer your question, ShoeMoney does not Niche Blog. By the way, he is probably doing this for extra search engine traffic. I mean, let's face it. Blogging tips aren't the most popular topics in the world to discuss. Now that I think about it, ShoeMoney is a genius...

How to get backlinks

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Place this video on your blog - See end of video for FREE code
SEO Book wrote 101 link building tips to Market your Website and now it's my turn to write 9 of my most effective link building strategies.

Before I even begin, I want to let everyone know that link building
  • Sucks!
  • Is not fun!
  • Is not easy!
  • and again, Is not fun!
If you're not willing to work hard, stand up and walk away from your computer. The techniques I am about to show you took me over a year to discover. I have written a post about my techniques over at Digital Point forums, and that post was very well-respected.

What I am about to teach you will make you successful online if you follow the routine consistently. This is not some garbage way to get links either. This will only bring you the highest quality backlinks that you could ever imagine.

Ways to get high quality inbound links

  • Putting a 125 x 125 widget on your blog telling others to put in on theirs.
  • Giving away an E-Book with links to your site in it. (Tip by: Robert J F Kennedy)
  • Building Blog Templates (Tip by: Robert J F Kennedy)
  • Ezines.
  • Squidoo and Hubpages
  • Commenting on DoFollow Blogs
  • Link Exchanges
  • Collaborating
  • Guest Posts
  • Link Baiting

How to get those high quality backlinks.

How to get backlinks Widgets on your Blog - For example, if you like this post about how to get backlinks, you should take the code from the box below to put the image to the left onto your website and share it with others. :)
ebooks Writing Ebooks - Ebooks are great ways to build backlinks. Simply write an Ebook, link to your site from it, and tell other bloggers that they can give it away on their site for free. (image source: flickr) Building Blog Templates - Creating blog templates is another great way to get tons of links. blogger template Simply
  1. Build a lot of templates.
  2. Put links to your site in the bottom of those templates.
  3. Then promote your templates like crazy.
Writing and Submitting Ezines - This right here is powerful. It's probably one of the most, if not the most powerful way to build backlinks. ezine logoEzines are great because
  • They usually receive page rank.
  • They can be copied and distributed by others.
  • They will also usually bring your blog some great traffic.
ezine statisticsSo far, I have written 6 Ezines and have received 93 visitors to my website. For those who waste all of their time with Entrecard; STOP! Instead of doing drops, do Ezines. Ezines benefit you in many more ways than Entrecard and I could go on and on about that. However, I have to get to the next tip. Squidoo and Hubpages - I will admit, I don't know everything in the world about Hubpages. However, I do know a lot about Squidoo. squidoo logoSquidoo is
  • Something you can't write in one night.
  • More of a resource than it is one article.
  • A great way to get high quality inbound links.
  • A great way to get loads of traffic.
Squidoos are awesome and they usually also have a page rank by the first Google Page Rank update. They're an easy way for high quality backlinks and definitely a great way for some major traffic. Commenting on DoFollow Blogs (4 Noobs) - Just so Noobs realize this, there is a difference between commenting on regular old blogs and commenting on a blog that will actually help you.
  • Commenting on NoFollow blogs will be ignored by the Search Engines.
  • Commenting on DoFollow blogs will be loved by the Search Engines.
dofollow logo no nofollowCommenting on DoFollow Blogs (Everyone) - There are two efficient ways that you can go about finding DoFollow blogs. (Google Custom Searching is not one of them in my opinion.)
  1. You can use Fast Blog Finder (Greatly Recommended)
  2. Or you can do the little trick below.
This is an awesome way to check out where your competition is getting their links from. By doing this, you have a chance at receiving some links also.
  1. Go to Yahoo Site Explorer
  2. Type in a URL of a semi-popular website in your niche.
  3. When the list appears, look for deep pages. (Not the index page)
  4. Once you find a deep page, check it out.
Deep pages usually have the chance at being a comment link, and better yet, a DoFollow comment link. This is less efficient than Fast Blog Finder, but it definitely still works. Link Exchanges - This isn't one of my favorite ways to build links, but it still works. Basically, ask a fellow blogger if they'd like to add your blog url to their blog roll and vis versa. It is still an ok way to build links, but I believe that collaborating is way more fun and effective. Collaborating - This is one of my favorite ways to not only get high quality backlinks, but this is a great way to gain respect and make friends with fellow bloggers in your niche.

shaking handsCollaborating is The exchange of
  • Blog Roll links
  • 125 x 125 ads
  • Promoting each others' sites through posts.
  • The general friendship of one blogger to the next.
Instead of just asking for a link exchange, I love collaborating because it allows you to really get to know and help out the other blogger. Collaborating is really the forming of a business relationship and it's always a great way to build links.

Guest Posting
- Guest postings are really fun, but usually require some sort of collaboration or business relationship first. (image credit: flickr)

guest parkingGuest Posts are a great way to get
  • Traffic
  • Backlinks
  • Somebody's readers to turn into your readers.

Link Baiting
- Finally, we have link baiting. Oh link baiting. How I love link baiting. Link baiting usually involves the rebellion against main stream. It's something that's meant to cause an uproar.

For instance, if I said, Darren Rowse Sucks, and then provided some supporting information, people would probably link to me.

This is a great video about link baiting. Source: Swap W

Final backlink building note:

Link building is not easy. It's not something that you can do overnight and it's definitely something that you have to work on over time. As you become more popular, your links will pour in more naturally.

Serious Bloggers - Collaborate with Me

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Place this video on your blog - See end of video for FREE code
It's all stated in the video above. I am looking for serious bloggers that are willing to collaborate. I am truly tired of bloggers being so into the, "I don't want to link out of my site" deal. It's becoming quite ridiculous and I know it's espectially bad for the bloggers who blog about blogging.

You and I will exchange

Well, we will actually
  • Exchange blog roll links.
  • Exchange 125x125 banner advertisements.
  • Deep link to each other if we find useful info on one an others' site.
  • Perform guest posts on each others' blogs.
  • Share ideas and cross-promote each others' work.
Benefits include
  • More referral traffic
  • More readers
  • More inbound links
  • Higher rankings in the SERPS
  • More search engine traffic
  • Thus, more ad clicks
  • and or more sales.

What's the point in collaborating?

Now, you may be thinking, "Why would I promote your site? You're my competition." You may also think, "what's the point?" Here's the deal, aside from the listed positives above, it's also important to note that John Chow and Darren Rowse have been collaborating or at least cross-promoting each others' work for quite some time now. The result has been, "What's yours is mine and what's mine is yours."
  • Darren Rowse's readers became John Chows.
  • John Chows readers became Darren Rowses.
And when two people combine thoughts and ideas or at least mention eachother at one another's blog, it raises the blogs respect and it's value in the public's eyes. Not to mention the fact that the links you will be getting will surely raise rankings in the SERPS.

If you're interested in collaborating with me...

If you're intested in collaborating with me let me know by commenting this post. However, before you do, make sure that your blog meets the following guidelines. Guidelines to collaborating with me
  • You must be a serious blogger.
  • You must be a blogger who's blogging for the long run.
  • Your blog must be about blogging or a topic related. (Make Money Online...)
Well, I hope to here from you guys soon. So far Smart Bloggerz has joined the group.

How many posts should I display on my homepage

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I was working with my friend from Muscle Monsters the other day and he was wondering how many posts he should display on his homepage.
  • Displaying too many posts could cause the reader to become overwhelmed.
  • Not displaying enough posts could disable the reader from finding interesting content.
So what can we do in such a situation?

Expandable Post Summaries (continue reading)

Firstly, it's important to shorten your home page as it already is. You can do this by applying the continue reading feature to your blog. If you're a Blogger user, check out my continue reading blogger tutorial. By applying this feature to your blog, your pages will become shorter, allowing your readers to quickly scroll over and or scan for articles of interest.

Finding a medium

Displaying too many posts is overwhelming. Not displaying enough posts could cause your best content to be lost in the loop. What is the ideal number of posts to display on a home page? How deep are your readers willing to look into your site for content?

6 - 7 Posts Per Page

From my personal experience, it's best to display only 6 t0 7 posts per page. This includes your home page. I was actually looking at Copy Blogger and I noticed something quite interesting. He has 6 posts on his homepage, yet it's still extremely short. He doesn't have a lot of vertical scrolling.

Extra Homepage tips

  • Shorten the height of your banner.
  • Minimize vertical scrolling.
  • Do post excerpts, continue reading, expandable post summaries.
  • Try to keep it as simple as possible.
Again, take a look at Copy Blogger. Check out what he does with his home page. See how easy and simple it is and then try adding a similar feel to your own site.

How to be a successful Blogger

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Place this video on your blog - See end of video for FREE code
People are always asking me, "How can I be a successful Blogger?" Well, there are many many ways that one can become successful in the blogging world and there are three ways that an individual can go about doing so.
Three concepts you must understand for blogging success!
  1. Content Creation
  2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  3. Proper Marketing

Creating Content

on the computer typing

Creating content for your blog is the most important part of being a successful blogger. It's funny because many people spend so much time looking for shortcuts or back doors when they could really be doing what is actually important; Creating content. Truth be told, there are no back doors. If you want to build a successful blog, you must create content. (image credit: adrian) What types of content should I create?
  • Text
  • Video
  • Image
Create all three types of content. Hit the world wide web from ever angle and give yourself the best chance at being successful online. HINT: You may be surprised at actually how much traffic you will actually receive from Youtube... Then of course, perform internet marketing like you've never performed marketing before!

Understanding SEO

Understanding Search Engine Optimization is another major topic bloggers must research for success. For instance, do you know
  • How google ranks pages?
  • The importance of proper page titles?
  • What an alt tag is?
  • What anchor text is and how to use it properly?
  • The importance of backlinks?
  • The importance of internal links?
Do you even know what SEO is? Trust me ladies and gentleman, it's a huge part of being successful online and if you don't do your research, you won't be successful.

Marketing your work

Step number III to being successful online consists of proper internet marketing. Creating good content is great, but not if nobody is reading it. Your blog could be the best blog in the world, but if you're not marketing it, then who cares? What types of content should I market?
  • Text
  • Video
  • Image
Sure enough, you should market basically everything. Everything you create should be somewhere, other than your blog. HINT: I like to go by the 1:1 ratio rule. If I put it on my website, I will put it on an article hosting, video hosting, and image hosting website also. For article submitting use,
  • Ezine Articles
  • Squidoo
  • Hubpages
  • Guest postings
For video submitting use,
  • Youtube
  • Live Video
  • Revver
For image submitting use
  • Flickr
  • Image Shack
  • Photobucket
It really doesn't matter how you market your work, as long as you market it and your marketing works. However, I will admit that I personally love using most of the websites above for marketing my blogs.

How to become a successful Blogger?

You want to know how to become a successful blogger? Hard work my friends. Hard work. I remember when Video Blogging Tips was getting 10 views a day. Now look at it. If you work hard, research, and implement these tips into your website, you will be successful online.

Is submitting articles a good idea?

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Place this video on your blog - See end of video for FREE code
Is article submitting a good idea or is it a waste of time? I actually questioned myself on this subject and it wasn't until I had been blogging for a few months that I finally tried writing a few Ezine Articles.

Professional Bloggers don't want you to know...

You know what's funny about Professional Bloggers? They will give you all the tips in the world, but they won't tell you how to build links. Professional Bloggers will tell you to write content, but they won't tell you that early on you should be submitting almost 1/2 of your content to Ezine and article directories. 99% of the time, Professional Bloggers won't tell you everything they know about a certain subject because they're scared you'll do better; Beat them at their own game.

Ezine and Article Submitting is worth it!

Is submitting articles a good idea Take a look at the chart to the left. This is the chart of the 4 articles I have submitted to Ezine. Blue represents the number of views that specific article has had and Red represents the number of views I have gotten from that article. When it comes to Ezine and article submitting, I am a Noob. However, I am a Noob that has proceeded to get 53 total visitors to two different websites in the matter of 4 different Ezine articles.

Positives of Article and Ezine Submitting

  1. Free traffic for life!
  2. Free do follow link to your website for life!
  3. Free high powered back link for life!
  4. Your article will show for life!
Finally, if you write a really good article, it may be republished throughout the web by other Bloggers and Webmasters giving you a load of links!

Tips for Article and Ezine Submitting

  1. Submit unique content.
  2. Don't copy and paste things from your site.
  3. Take some of your older more popular articles, rewrite and submit them.
  4. Write with purpose. Don't just throw junk together.
  5. Link to your website from the resource box.
  6. 1:1 Ratio of content on your site to content you submit early on.

AdSense in Blogger Posts

AdSense in Blogger Posts
It's been proven that the most effective spot for an AdSense advertisement is
  • Right above the content area.
  • and Below the first posts' title.
Most people already know that the above statements are true, but most people don't know how to place an AdSense advertisement in this area because they're using Blogger.

Part 1 - Getting the right AdSense code.

  1. Go to this website: AdSense Parser
  2. Copy the AdSense code you'd like to place below your posts' title.
  3. Paste this AdSense code into the AdSense Parser.
  4. Click the "Parse Button" at the bottom.
  5. Copy and paste your new AdSense code into Notepad.

Part 2 - Finding the Edit HTML area.

  1. Go to your Blogger Dashboard.
  2. Click on "Layout."
  3. Then click on "Edit Html."
  4. Check the "Expand Widget Templates" box.

Part 3 - Find Feature

  1. On your keyboard hold down the "CTRL" Key
  2. Then hit the "F" Key.
  3. Search for - data:post.body

Part 4 - Paste your AdSense code

  1. Paste your AdSense code from Notepad just above data:post.body.
  2. Save your template.

Part 5 - Abiding by the AdSense TOS

According to AdSense TOS you can not have more than 3 ad blocks on one page. With that being said, here's a way to make your AdSense ads appear only on post pages. AdSense in Blogger Posts
  • Place the code below below your AdSense code.

Part 6 - Your code should look like this...

AdSense in Blogger Posts

AdSense should be displaying in Blogger Posts!

Your Index or home page should not be displaying any AdSense ads, but your deeper pages shall. You have accomplished the task. Congratulations!

Common Questions

Why can't we have AdSense on our home page / archive pages? Had we left AdSense displaying on the home page also, it'd be displaying an unlimited number of times. This is especially true when readers hit your archive pages. You can only have 3 AdSense blocks per page so you need to abide by the AdSense TOS and that's why you can't have AdSense displaying on your home page and or archive pages. My AdSense code is different. Am I breaking TOS? As far as I know, this hack does not break any AdSense rules. Last I saw, AdSense understood that this is the only way for Blogger users to work AdSense into their HTML. I've been using this method for 9 months and have not yet had one problem with AdSense. AdSense directly below post titles? AdSense in Blogger PostsYou're never supposed to display AdSense advertisements directly below post titles. If you look at my example to the left, you will see that I have much separation between the post title and the ad. You will even see that I labeled my AdSense block as an Advertisement. This is just for extra precaution. UPDATE: Now it's a requirement. Be sure to check out these other AdSense Tips. I have a huge post that basically has everything that you need to know about AdSense! If you have any question, feel free to comment below.

Affiliate Arbitrage with AdWords

If you've heard of AdSense Arbitrage, then you know that it was banned long ago. You also know that people made loads of money doing it. But did you know that you can actually make money with something called Affiliate Arbitrage? That's right. It's called affiliate arbitrage and I hinted about it in my last post on how to make money online with affiliate programs.
Now I actually want to show you how affiliate arbitrage works and how to use it with Google Adwords.

Affiliate Arbitrage - Quick Cash Online

Affiliate arbitrage will likely be some of the quickest cash that you will ever make online. Here's the idea of Affiliate Arbitrage.
Example: A well-executed affiliate arbitrage chart.
You will make $50.00 for each product sale .
- You pay $1.00 for PPC Advertising per visitor. - Your ad links to your affiliate sales page - Your customers enter your page and lets say that 10% purchase your product. - 100 visitors = $100.00 in PPC ads - 10 Sales = $500.00 - $500 (in sales) - $100 (in cost of ppc) = $400 profit!

Affiliate Arbitrage Gone Wrong

Yes. The little chart above does look pretty cool, but you have to watch your back. Affiliate arbitrage can go wrong. In fact, affiliate arbitrage can really go wrong.
Example: A buster...
You will make $50.00 for each product sale .
- You pay $1.00 for PPC Advertising per visitor. - Your ad links to your affiliate sales page - Your customers enter your page and lets say that 1% purchase your product. - 100 visitors = $100.00 in PPC ads - 1 Sale = $50.00 - $50 (in sales) - $100 (in cost of ppc) = $50 loss (OUCH!)

Affiliate Arbitrage Help

I know you all didn't see the link above, so I am going to post it again. This page right here: How to make money with affiliate programs, will teach you everything you need to know about
  • increasing your sale to visitor ratio
  • promoting your affiliate page for free
  • and extra bullet-proofed tips that will make you more sales!
Affiliate arbitrage with AdWords and or any other advertising you can find is here and alive people. Take advantage of it!
Special Notice: In most cases, if not all cases, it's against the rules of AdWords and many companies to link straight to your affiliate URL from your AdWords advertisement. Instead, you must have your own special page created, and from there, have an link pointing to the affiliate URL page at what you were appointed to by the company in which you're working on commission for.

What is a good bounce rate?

Sunday, November 09, 2008

Hey Taylor. My name is Melanie and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I don't wan to take up too much of your time, but I would really like to know what a good bounce rate is? According to Statcounter,
  • 55% jump right out in 5 seconds or less.
  • The other 45% stay for a pretty decent amount of time.
Is 55% a good bounce rate?
I would estimate that 55% is actually about average. However, if your bounce rate goes up any higher, I would really begin to worry.

What bounce rate(s) should worry me?

55% is a decent bounce rate. It means that almost half of the people that come to your site stay on for a good amount of time. However, you must also know that if your bounce rate goes any higher, you should probably begin to worry.
  • 60% - 69% bounce rate - I'd begin to worry.
  • 70% - 79% bounce rate - Your site is almost pointless.
  • 80% - 89% bounce rate - Hope your getting paid by the impression.
  • 90% - 99% bounce rate - Dude. You're wasting your time.

How can I lower my bounce rate?

Tomorrow, I will teach you how to lower your bounce rate. All of the tips arerelatively simple, but it's the time and effort it takes to go to the next step to get that bounce rate down. So what is a good bounce rate? I believe that anything below 50% is a pretty decent bounce rate. If you're below 40% then you're doing great, but I would say that 50% or lower is pretty good. Check out Video Blogging Tips home page for current updated tips.

How much money can I earn blogging?

Thursday, November 06, 2008

My Earnings: January 2008 - November 6th, 2008
How much money can I earn blogging?(November is low because it's only the 6th of the month so far.)
I don't know how many times I have been asked this. People are just dieing to know how much money they can earn via blogging. Some people are even questioning the legitimacy of blogging. But to be totally honest, there are a few factors that come into play before you can even think about earning even a dollar with blogging. You can make money blogging, but for some, it is easier than others.
Do you know what the following are or how they work?
  • Blogging
  • Google
  • SEO
  • Marketing
  • PPC (pay per click)
  • PPP (pay per post)
The above items all require a certain amount of knowledge when it comes to being a successful blogger. Of course, good content is required also, but if you don't do the above things correctly, you won't have any visitors to view your site anyway. If you're a newbie blogger, I know what you're thinking, "I only have to know 6 things to be a successful blogger? That's easy!"

Blogging is NOT easy!

Blogging is not easy until you know how to do it. All 6 of the above aspects and so many more will eventually come into play in your blogging career as long as you don't quit too soon that is. Once you begin to get the hang of blogging it's all about updating content. After that, the money just kind of falls into your lap.

So how much can I earn blogging?

  1. $1.00 a month
  2. $100.00 a month
  3. $1,000.00 a month
  4. $10,000.00 + a month
How much money can I earn blogging? You can earn however much you want to earn. Please note however that this will take time and a great deal of effort. Be sure to check out how to make money with PayPerPost for more info. Check out Video Blogging Tips for more blogging tips!

Sears Veterans Day Specials

Thursday, November 06, 2008

I have to mention this for tomorrow is Veteran's day. With that being said, I want you to take a silent moment for yourself tomorrow. If a loved one of yours is overseas please take a moment to pray to God. Pray for their safety and pray for all of the troops around the word. Also thank them and the veterans and thank God for what he has given you. Thank him for your health, your safety, and his love for the world. Know that God will always love you.

Sears Veteran's Day Specials!

November 9th through 11th, there will be a Sears Veterans Day Sale. There will be some great deals on clothing, tools, home appliances, and electronics. In fact, how does 60% off all outwear sound? It sounds to me like it's time to go to Sears.

My Favorite Item

My favorite item would have to be the Levi's ® Slim Straight Leg 514™ Jeans. They are originally $48.00, but because of the Special Veteran's Day sale, they are a low $29.99. Everyone who is on my blog should definitely be sure to check out this awesome sale especially with the holidays just around the corner. What better way is there to save some money than this special Veteran's day sale from Sears? For those who are into the clothing, I just check out the following link for some great deals. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/v_10153_12605_Clothing?adCell=AH Post?slot_id=24397&url=http%3a%2f%2fsocialsparkClick Here

Social Spark Scam

Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Social Spark is Not a Scam! I actually have been asked this question a few times so I really wanted to clear it up with the rest of the world. Social Spark is actually a legitimate way make money online.

What happened to PayPerPost?

The problem currently rests on PayPerPost. PayPerPost is actually a way for advertisers to buy links. Buying links is actually against Google TOS. With that said, both advertisers of PayPerPost and Publishers of PayPerPost are being punished by Google. Dropped off page ranks and lowered rankings in the search engines are the most common punishments. See how Pay Per Post lowers Google Page Rank.

A really BIG negative to Social Spark

I would really love to say that Social Spark is a 100% awesome program, but as of yesterday, I have changed my mind. Social Spark has one big negative and I think it's going to make many people angry. Social Spark does not allow you to have AdSense Ads anywhere near your posts. Above the posts, to the side of the posts, or below the posts, it doesn't matter. AdSenses ads are not allowed.

Suggestion to Social Spark users

My suggestion to Social Spark users would simply be to begin managing multiple blogs. You can have a blog for AdSense and a blog for Social Spark. If your Social Spark blog becomes quite popular and you think that you could make more with AdSense then build a different blog for Social Spark. In final note. Social Spark is a pretty decent program that actually complies with Google TOS by using nofollow tags for all the links you send out. This is great because now you don't have to worry about being penalized by Google whereas, PayPerPost has caused many to fall in the SERPS and lose page rank. With all of the above being stated, I would like to say Loudly and Proudly that Social Spark is not a scam!

Afford the Unaffordable this Holiday Season

Afford the Unaffordable this Holiday SeasonClick Here

I don't know whether or not you have heard about this, but K-Mart is having this awesome Layaway. This Layaway program allows you to purchase an item and then pay for it in increments every two weeks. In my opinion, the Layaway program by K-Mart is a great idea for two major reasons.

Not Enough Money

1. If you don't have enough money to purchase an item at the time, but the item will be gone by the time you do have enough money, then that'd be a great bummer. However, with the Kmart Lay-Away, you don't have to worry about this because after you make your first down payment, your item will be automatically reserved.

No Credit Card Required

2. The second reason this Layaway program is a great idea is because of the fact that it allows you to avoid using your credit card. Anytime you don't have to use your credit card, it's good not to. So the Layaway Program is a fantastic idea for both of these situations.

I'd purchase a TV

With the K-Mart Layaway program, I would probably purchase a TV. I currently can't afford a TV in one big payment, but if it's spread out, then it'd work just fine and that's just what the K-Mart Layaway program does. It spreads out your payments.

How does the K-Mart Layaway Program work?

  1. Select your item(s).
  2. Bring them to the layaway counter.
  3. Make payments every 2 weeks at your K-Mart Store.
  4. Take home your items once your payments are completed.

Check out the K-Mart Layaway Program

Be sure to check out the K-Mart Layaway Program. It will allow you to afford the unaffordable this holiday season. Enjoy, and have a great Holiday! Post?slot_id=24406&url=http%3a%2f%2fsocialspark

AdSense No Borders

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

I more than quadrupled my earnings after taking away borders that surrounded my AdSense ads and by following these AdSense Tips. With that being said, do not place any kind of border around your AdSense ads especially in your sidebar navigation. "But my page won't look as fancy dude!" Would you rather have
  • A "fancy page"?
  • More money?
If you want to make money from AdSense, you will follow the adsense no borders tip, and all of the other tips that I have given below about increasing AdSense CTR.
  1. Increase AdSense CTR Part 1
  2. Increase AdSense CTR Part 2
  3. Increase AdSense CTR Niche Blogging
Here's the deal. I have tested what works the best so you don't have to. That's Joel Comm's motto and that's my motto. Don't waste your time using fancy AdSense colors, placements, or layouts. If you want to increase your AdSense CTR, then simply take away the borders around your AdSense ads. Make your entire content including sidebars and everything else white! No borders in between. Example:
  1. Video Blogging Tips has borders.. But I am not using AdSense either...
  2. This Website does not have borders. (besides the top horizontal navigation.... BIG mistake here)
I guarantee you that if you get rid of your AdSense borders, you will see a great increase in your AdSense earnings!

Increase AdSense ctr niche blogging

Monday, November 03, 2008

Learning how to increase AdSense CTR seems to be the topic of the week. So far I have taught you how to increase AdSense CTR using proper colors, placements, and formats. I have also taught you how to increase AdSense CTR in posts. And as of a recent update, I taught you everything you need to know about AdSense in this post titled AdSense Tips.

Increase AdSense CTR by pinpointing a specific topic.

Increasing your AdSense CTR by niche blogging is one of the best things you can do for yourself when it comes to increasing your AdSense CTR. Depending on how specific your topic becomes determines how much your AdSense CTR actually increases.
For Example: We have two blogs and both of them are using the same template.
  1. One blog discusses general fitness
  2. The other blog discusses building biceps.

What do you think will have the higher CTR?

  • General Fitness - This blog will have a lower CTR (especially on the home page) because only some of the content will satisfy the reader meaning that only some of the advertisements will satisfy the reader also.
  • Building Biceps - This blog will have a higher CTR because it's pinpointed to target one group of people. Almost everybody who comes to this site is looking for the same thing. - building biceps. CTR will be through the roof if ads are placed correctly because the advertisements almost relate 100% to what the user is looking for.

Increase AdSense CTR Niche Blog Final Thoughts

Think about how much your AdSense CTR could increase just by pinpointing one specific topic per blog. Mind you that the more you pinpoint a topic, the less traffic you're likely to get. So you have to learn to weigh out the positives and negatives of this video blogging tip. If you want to earn even more money with AdSense, check out my AdSense no borders tip. Trust me, you're probably only doing AdSense half way!
