It's driving me crazy because I haven't been able to move up in the rankings for the key term, "Blogging Tips." For about 3 months now it seems that I am just stuck on page two of Google. It seems that I need to build more links. That or use the word, "blogging tips," a little more often.
Are your SERP rankings static?
If so, I think I know the way to get us out of this jam.
1. Relevant Content - How is Google supposed to know if your site is about, "cheese," if you don't use the keyword of, "cheese," anywhere in your articles? In my case, how is Google supposed to know that my site gives out, "blogging tips," if I don't use the phrase in any of my articles? (As you can see, I am finally beginning to.)
2. Building Backlinks - Never put your success in the hands of others. Build powerful Ezine, Hub, and Squidoo pages.
3. Special Tip - Link pattern: Ezines --> Hubpage --> Squidoo --> Your site. If you do this, you will build a load of high powerful backlinks to your page. Trust me, it works.
Increase SERPS
Hopefully I begin to rank a little higher for the key phrase blogging tips. I'll try building more content + more relevant content for that matter and we'll see if my rankings increase. If they continue to stay stuck, I will begin to work on building more backlinks.

Hey nice one I think going to try this. :D thanks for the tip
No problem. I hope everything works well for you.
Hi,
I am an SEO expert "head out of door = no chance" and what you are saying in 100% true. Yet the reason you are stuck on page 2 is because you are now in the area where by you are competing with other SEO's. Take the keyword 'car insurance' as an example. Within the UK review the top 50 results and all are paying a big agency to optimize there site, on and off page. Anyone implementing some small tactics can appear in the top 100, its when you start competing with other agencies the real SEO work starts. In your case page 2.
Basically what you are doing is a small slice of the SEO cake, yet for your target keyword will work.
Louis - Thank you for the inforomation and the confirmation. I notice that a lot of the sites ahead of me also have a high page rank. A few of them design blog templates and place a link to their site with the optimized anchor text in the footer. Great :( Looks like I will have to make some templates.
What are your thoughts on gaining inbound links from ezine -- hubpages -- and squidoo?
