Your blogging goals 2009

I don't know about you guys, but I am looking to make a few hundred dollars a month this year.

My main money goal would be to hit $1,000 a month by the end of this year, but we all know that for me to meet this goal, I will have to be committed to blogging whenever I have any spare time.

Steering away from Paid Posts

Not to mention the fact that I would really like to steer away from paid posts. In reality, paid posts are a waste of time. With that being said, I would like to try to make most of my money through AdSense, private advertising, and affiliate programs.

I can say that I am proud of myself. From making $1.00 in January to making a maximum of around $400.00 in November really is a huge improvement.

December was a little low due to the holidays, but this really isn't too uncommon. I also decided to steer away from paid posts that month so I am not too surprised with the lower earnings.

My total earnings in 2008 came out to be $1906.26. Overall, I am pretty happy with these earnings, but again, I really want to steer away from the paid posts.

Accomplishing my goals for 2009

The results to the left were expected for 2008. But again, the two things that I should focus on increasing are

1. My affiliate sales. 2. My earnings through AdSense.

In order for me to accomplish my goals I will need to:

1. Write posts every single day. 2. Make more videos. 3. Be consistent. 4. Work hard.

What are your goals?

Do you want to increase your earnings? Do you want to gain more traffic? Do you want to blog a little less - a little more?

Leave your comments below and be sure to vote on the poll in the right sidebar navigation.

I want to:
Increase my earnings
Gain more traffic
Increase my PR by 1 point in the next update to PR4

For this I will try to blog more but for 2-3 months i would be damn busy due to my 10th boards exams coming up n I don't want to affect my studies.

I am with you on the PAID POSTS thingie. Most of them are looking for PR 5 and above blogs to post reviews etc. I think you'd have better luck asking bloggers to review one another's blogs for free.

The bulk of my online income is designing. Affiliate income comes second.

Happy 2009 and may your dreams come through!

Typhoon - I hope that you don't mind that I used these subjects as possible answers in my poll to the right. :) You seem like you have a good list. I will be going to college starting January 5th so I think you and I are in the same boat.

Kelly - It's tough because paid posts really do pay out an extra $15.00 - $30.00 a day for the average blogger. However, it's really important to try to make your own traffic - money. Paid posts take away time from doing your own posts, building backlinks, and making new friends online.

Good luck with your goals! Business Blogging certainly can be your most effective and inexpensive internet marketing strategy. I too am working on a similar goal, but not so much for the monetary gain as far developing more research for a book I am writing. I hope to publish a business blogging book for small business by the end of this year.

What thought have you put into content value? What is the main purpose for visitors to continue reading what you write?

I created BusinessBlogging.net as a resource for small business owners, but with the addition of a wiki it has turned into a free information source for other business bloggers. What services are you offering?

Thanks,

Wow! You're writing a book? That's awesome. I see that you're from Portland, Oregon. That's even cooler since I am from Salem.

That ice storm was pretty intense right? I slipped and fell a few times myself. An ice-tree almost hit me also.

I was actually thinking about how I could better my content. That's when I decided to cut back to blogging on this site every other day.

See, I manage multiple blogs. The more blogs you manage, the less value you'll provide in each blog because of the fact that you'll be in such a rush just to "get it done."

By blogging every other day, my content value will definitely increase.

My subscriber should stick with me because I know what it's like to work hours a day and make no money online. Frankly, it stinks.

My blog will provide them with the knowledge and the power they need to make money online.

I believe my blog is even better than Darren Rowse's blog. Sure. Why not? I have more time to help people one on one. Darren does not. He's a great blogger, but I really doubt he's sat on the phone for hours on end helping his readers create better blogs. I have done that.

I have helped people with no money create a site and make money blogging. Darren simply provides the steps. However, I'll provide the steps and walk you through them.

Free Blogging Tips. That's my service and that's what I enjoy providing.

Thanks for the questions by the way.
