John Madden Retirement

It looks like the legendary NFL Hall of Famer John Madden has retired from announcing football games. In a statement John Madden released to NBC Sports, he said, "It's time."

NFL Hall of Fame Announcement

[I wonder if EA Sports will soon change the name of the game from Madden to something else? ]

John Madden also added this to his to his retirement statement. “It’s been such a great ride. The N.F.L. has been my life for more than 40 years, it has been my passion — and still is.”

Madden's retirement came only a few days after Phillies announcer, Harry Kalas' death. I wonder if there is a link between John Madden's retirement and Kalas' passing? Madden will be missed as an NFL broadcaster, but I am also almost certain that he will be guest casting some future games next season.
