A sad and crazy day in the news today. A love triangle between Tamara Hofmann [a teacher at El Dorado High School], Sixto Balbuena, and Samuel Valdivia has left Valdivia dead - stabbed to death by Balbueno.
According to News.La.Late, Balbuena arrived at Hofmann's house. When Hofmann didn't answer, Balbuena proceeded into the home. When he heard noises coming from the back room, he thought Hofmann was in trouble. That's when he went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife. The next thing you know, Samuel Valdivia was dead.

I don't know Balbuena and I don't know much about the situation. However, it really does sound like Balbuena had a freakout. That doesn't justify him killing a man, but if he truly felt he was protecting Hofmann, I don't think he should spend life in prison. Then again, without proper evidence I can't really fully support my opinion.
