Donte Stallworth was sentenced to 30 days in jail for manslaughter after drinking and driving in Miami Beach, causing a tragic accident killing one. During his sentence, Stallworth may be allowed to practice football with his team, but it's all really dependent upon what his control officer and the NFL allow him to do.
Donte Stallworth has also landed himself two years of house arrest, 8 years of probation, and a suspended driver’s license for life. Spokeswoman Terry Chavez said, "He cannot drive ever again for any reason. That is what the (victim's) family wanted." Donte Stallworth also owes $10,000 in fines and 1,000 hours of community service.
At the time of the accident, Donte Stallworth had a blood alcohol level of .126. The legal limit is .08, for those that didn't know. Police say that "He acted like a man, he reported it immediately to the police through 911, he remained at the scene, he co-operated fully with the Miami Beach Police Department.” This will be the first criminal mark on Donte Stallworth’s record.
The story itself doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of attention. I didn’t hear about the accident until today. It’s always sad to hear of things like this happening. Sadly, they seem to happen on a daily basis. There really needs to be something done to prevent things likes this from happening. However, we all know that there are and always will be tragic accidents that occur every single day.
Donte Stallworth drinking and driving is just another tragic accident which will probably receive some fire in the media tonight. I send out my condolences to the family and the friend’s of both Stallworth and the victims parents. Again, things like this are always tragic, and it’s extremely sad to hear that similar situations seem to occur on a daily basis. May everyone who was involved be taken care of in this time of sorrow.

I am by far not a Browns fan, however if this accident happened and it wasn't a Pro football player, or a famous person at the wheel, this story would have never made it out of Miami...
Hey anonymous, you are an idiot! What kind of comment is that? He is a public figure by virtue of being a pro athlete and hence it makes the press because of his profession. Is that really beyond your comprehnsion level?
People make mistakes..but I guaranty you this
if he was just an ordinary citizen like any of us
his a#@ would be doing 40 years in prison
Or like my son, who is poor, 9 years
Nice read and good opinion/information! I
believe the people will certainly enjoy
this and find it to be quiet helpful. Thank
you for taking the time to share this with us!
Anonymous is right, any regular person would have gotten much more time in jail for a mistake they made. I really do feel for his family but the truth of the matter is that public figures get treated differently.
His ass should have rotten in prison, this just proves how messed up our justice system is. Im sorry let me just pay off his family a couple mill... no biggie, continue on with my life as if nothing happen. That some bullshit right there.
he got away with it because he is famous and has money look what happend to the man who killed the baseball players for the angels (nick adenhart)the drunk driver got 30 years and thats because he doesnt have money or is a famous person
