The Huffington Post is reporting that the Morning show with Mike and Juliet has been cancelled. Twentieth Television President, Bob Cook said that they couldn't renew the show because of the "serious economic conditions."
Here's a full quotation from Cook, "Over the past two years, we set out to produce a high-quality show that provided viewers with an engaging source of entertainment. We believe we accomplished this goal. Unfortunately, the current serious economic conditions made it challenging to continue producing the type of unique program that we wanted to deliver," (Huffington Post).
The rest of the interview at Broadcasting Cable discusses the negative effect that the economy is having on the TV industry saying, "Unfortunately, there are a lot of TV stations that are having a tough time locally and we’re having a tough time nationally."
It's really too bad that Mike and Juliet was cancelled. Just so you do know, the show will continue to air and be produced through the rest of this month (January 2009), and re-runs will air until fall.
