Neda Agha Sultan Video

Neda Agha Sultan Video - This is pretty sick, and I don't mean that in a good way. Neda Agha Sultan lived in Iran and she was recently shot and killed for protesting her need for freedom. Currently, there's a lot of speculation at how old Neda actually was. Some people believe she was 16, while others believe she was 26.

Either way, it's pretty crazy how this video ended up on Youtube. I really don't know if it's a bad or good thing that it did. It's good for the fact that the American people will truly get to see the news uncensored. By watching this video, you really do see that other people will do whatever it takes to be free. On the other hand, this video is pretty graphic and pretty disrespectful to Neda Agha Sultan, so it's really hard to say.

For the fact that this video is quite graphic, I will not be hosting it on my blog. However, you can see the Neda Agha Sultan Video by heading over to Youtube, and doing a search. Again, I have to warn you that it is quite graphic. If you're not down for seeing true violence, then I don't recommend watching the video

"You can blow out a cnadle, but you can't blow out a fire. Once the flames begin to catch the wind just blows it higher!" Peter Gabriel in his 1979 song "Biko" about South African freedom fighter Steve Biko
The more things change, the more they stay the same!

I never watched the video. The news story itself was sad enough.
When I heard about the story I was immediately moved to write a song about the personal tragedy and what it seemed to symbolize. It just makes you think would you love your country enough to go and be part of a demonstration - or even just witness it ? Or would you just stay cowering in your house listening to noises outside?
Isn't it love of your country to stand up and take to the streets to see positive change in progress? Wouldn't you be ashamed if years on your grandchildren asked you what you did on that historic day and you said "nothing - the authorities told us to stay at home?"
My song's on youtube: "One Lost Vote"
