The Washington Post is reporting some bad news - Senator Chris Dodd made an announcement today that he has prostate cancer and is currently riding through the early stages of the disease. A quote from the Washington Post states that Dodd says he "feels fine." According to the post, Dodd's surgery will take place as early as next month.
In the interview, Dodd makes special notes about how he won't let the prostate cancer get in the way of his career. He boldly stated "As you have probably noticed, I'm working some long and hard hours lately and that will continue."
Finally, he stated that he will not be resigning. In fact, Chris Dodd stated that he will be going out for reelection next year. We all are praying that the cancer battle goes well. We give you our prayers.
