I have some good news for those of you North Carolinians that are looking to save some dough. In an attempt to make a few more sales there will be a tax free weekend in NC this 2009.
When? The event will take place for three days straight and will start on August 7th, 2009 and will run until August 9th, 2009 at midnight.
What? If you're looking to purchase a big item and you've been looking to do so for some time, now is your chance. I don't really know how sales tax works since I live in Oregon, but I would think that if you're going to buy an expensive item, sales tax probably hits you pretty hard.
Calculator - I found an online sales tax calculator set at 8.25%. If you purchase an item for $1,000, you're really spending 1082.50 after taxes. Pretty cool when you can just get your item for the $1,000 price tag.
Recommended - I definitely recommend checking out the tax free weekend in NC this 2009. Remember, don't just go to it to save money. Only go if you've truly been looking to buy a product, and save yourself some cash.
