Todd Genger is a Goldman Sachs lawyer and was recently arrested in an underage Internet *** sting investigation. Why not just look at the 18-year-olds man? Honestly folks. It'll make your lives that much easier. According to JackieRad, Genger was arrested on July 27th, 2009 after attempting to get a 15-year-old girl to meet him outside of the virtual world.
To the lawyers surprise, he was really talking to an under cover agent from the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. JackieRad states that Genger admitted to having "explicit conversations" with the underage girl.
The story gets worse... This guy is married with 3 kids. What the h-e-double-hockey-sticks is he doing talking to a 15-year-old girl online? He's a lawyer, and I am sure he worked extremely hard to build up his reputation, all for none.
I'm happy that Todd Genger was arrested, but it's definitely sad to see that this is what the world is coming to. His court date is set for August 11th, 2009; He could serve between 1 to 4 years in prison if he is convicted.
I am actually curious to see how this case turns out. I'll definitely be doing a search for his name after the 11th, because he should definitely be sentenced. The one thing the jury will have to look for though is whether or not he was entrapped. If the girl said anything to imply that she wanted explicit conversations with Genger, this could completely ruin the validity of the case. The basic rule of a sting operation like this one - Let the enemy make the move.
So again, I am glad that he was arrested. I definitely feel bad for his wife and his family. I'm almost certain that Todd Genger was a nice guy, but just made a horrible mistake. Either way, what he has done is wrong, and if necessary, he will serve his prison sentence.

Convicted of two felonies. Sentencing in May. Will be good to get this dirtbag off the streets so he will finally stop.
The statistics suggest that this guy has a long history of this behavior and it will continue forever. Mrs genger should run far, far away from this guy and keep the kids away. There should be no contact--ever. He should be caged forever or closely watched and tranquilized. Will Thorazine be administered in prison. Depoprovera. Will genger have a choice?
When he gets sentenced next Tuesday, May 11, 2010, he should get at least 1.5 to 4 years (if the sentences for the two felony convictions are allowed to run concurrently). He will get sent to a state prison to serve his time--not Rikers--and he may spend time in the Westchester County jail beginning immediately after his sentencing on Tuesday. Hope he is enjoying the nice weather this weekend--his last free weekend for a LONG time.
Will Genger be tranquilized by the state of new York? Is the state permitted to medicate a prisoner without the consent of the prisoner? Does the prison provide condoms for the prisoners?

Any sense how many other children were preyed upon by genger? Why did he travel to westchester? Was he actually going there to do the nasty? That's sick! Where was mrs genger? It will be good to have this genger character off the streets so parents can rest easier. Will he be banned from using a computer? He will keep doing it.
Have his parental rights been terminated yet? The state needs to step in to get that done as soon as possible. The alternative is that his rights will be terminated through divorce since Mrs Genger should seek and would likely be awarded sole legal custody. I wonder if she will seek to have the court prevent Todd Genger from having any contact with the children until they reach 18. That may be part of the probation; there was a New York Court of Appeals case decided recently that held, essentially, that if you commit a sex-related crime you may be ordered to stay away from kids--including your own. The law of the state of new york reflects a WE DON'T CARE attitude when it comes to the extremely harsh consequences that befall sex offenders. Yes, the prisoners line-up to get their "meds.". Grotesque scene, apparently. Many of the prisoners shuffle around like zombies. Tranquilizers are routinely administered and staff members make each person open his mouth wide to ensure the pills have been swallowed. Administered as if to a rabid dog.
