The Associated Content is reporting that people are attempting and "threatening to boycott Scotland." What exactly does that mean, and why do people want to boycott a country?
First and foremost, people are attempting to boycot Scotland because of their recent idea to release 57-year-old Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi. If you're not familiar with al-Megrahi, he was convicted for the Lockerbie Bombing which killed 259 people on Pan Am Flight 103. The bombing, which was labeled as a "terrorist bombing" happened back in 1983.
According to sources across the net, al-Megrahi was released after an 8 year jail term due to the fact that he was "terminally ill." He's going to die anyway, so why not release him? I guess that's what they though. Anyway, al-Megrahi was sentenced to 27 years in prison, but it looks like he got out a little early. That's why people are looking to boycott Scotland.
It comes down to this: 259 people died in the bombing that al-Megrahi participated in. So why should he get to be released home just because he's terminally ill? He shouldn't be, and that's why people want to boycott Scotland.

1. The US Navy - founded by John Paul Jones, born in Kircudbright, Scotland in 1747. Good luck with that one!!!!
2. The steam engine - invented by James Watt, born in Greenock, Scotland in 1736. Now yes the steam engine is a little out dated however, it formed the basis for everything powered by fossil fuels. There goes your economy dafties.
3. Penicillin - Discovered by Sir Alexander Flemming, born in Lochfield, Scotland in 1881. Again, the basis for every antibiotic in the world, lets see you get onwithout that little gem.
4. The Television - invented by John Logie Beard, born in Helensburgh, Scotland in 1888. How bored would you lot be.
5. The Telephone - invented by Alexander Graham Bell, born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1847. So when you getting rid of them Yankiedoodlers?????
