If you're looking for a good time this fine 2009 weekend, be sure to check out the Selfridge Air Show. A flying airshow, a fireworks display, and a concert are in order for this fun event. Although this event will be great, Det News wanted to make it clear that coolers, backpacks, glass containers, cans, pets, weapons and everything else that's considered to be illegal, will not be allowed inside of the event. This includes drinking.
So if I am not mistaken, the Times Herald is reporting that the air show is completely free. However, the concert along with the fireworks costs $10.00. The concert will start at around 8:00 PM, so be prepared.
Here's what director of the event, Jim Rossi, had to say about the 2009 event: "The Friday night concert is a great way to get a little preview of what’s to come on Saturday and Sunday and also to meet many of the pilots who will be performing at the show,” said Maj. Jim Rossi, director of the Selfridge Air Show."
It looks like Saturday and Sunday are going to be some BIG days! Remember, the Selfridge Air Show and concert take place today, August 22nd, 2009, and tomorrow, the 23rd. Be sure to check it out, I definitely recommend it.
