Well-known and ever lasting conductor, Erich Kunzel, has died at the age of 74. According to Biz Journals, Kunzel had pancreatic cancer, along with cancer in the liver and colon. The source also revealed that Kunzel passed away in his Swans Island, Maine home.
If you're unfamiliar with Kunzel, he was the conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Trey Devey, the president of the Orchestra stated, “The world has lost a musical giant, and we have lost a dear friend.” It's definitely sad to see Kunzel go.
Kunzel joined the Orchestra as an associate conductor back in 1965. He'll surely be missed.
