According to the AFP, Tropical Storm Erika is set to hit Miami, Florida. According to the source, the storm is moving west-northwest at nine miles per hour while maximum winds were set at a speed of 50 miles per hour.
While this storm doesn't seem like it will be too violent, the AFP made note that winds can still get up to 105 miles per hour. Anything about this mark is classified as a hurricane.
Tropical Storm watches have been so far issued for the Netherlands Antilles, Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, and the islands of St. Martin and St. Barthelemy.
Although this is only a tropical storm, it's always important to stay safe, and be prepared. Be very cautious, and be sure to stay tuned to your local and national news stations.
The Weather Channel is another great source for up to date information.
By the way, also be sure to stay in tune with Hurricane Jimena.
