An unnamed 23-year-old Baltimore Marathon runner died on Saturday, after collapsing during the race. Currently, the cause of the runner's death is unknown. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
It's said that workers "immediately" attended to the runner after his collapse. However, they were not able to revive him.
Lee Corrigan - Orgaziner of the event told the Boston Sun, "We are heartbroken about it, and it puts a sad note on an otherwise great day for Baltimore." This is very sad news indeed.
I am curious to find out what the autopsy will show. If it states that this Boston Marathon runner's death was from some sort of "being pushed too far" cause, I'll be thinking the next time before I push myself to the limit, during my workouts.
