I am not hear to judge you, or tell you to try to work things out with your spouse.
I am here to tell you how and where to get a quickie divorce, along with mentioning some of the positives and negatives of taking this route.
But before I talk about any of that, we need to determine whether or not a quickie divorce is right for you and your spouse.
Is a Quickie Divorce Right for You?
Whether you like it or not, quickie divorces take effort between both parties.
A lot of settlements will have to be agreed upon, before any divorce can ever take place.
Examples:
- Custody of kids
- Who get's to keep what items
- Money
You must be able to discuss...
If you can discuss things calmly and rationally, and evenly fair things out, you'll be on your way to being single. If you can't split things up yourselves, you'll likely end up in divorce court, which will lengthen the process tremendously.
You must come to an agreement....
If you think you can do this, continue reading. If not, you'll be in for a long battle in court, and my best wishes go out to you.
How and Where Should I get a Quickie Divorce?
If everything is settled between you and your partner, you're on your way to getting the fastest divorce of your lives. That way, you can pack your bags (if you haven't already done so), and move on to the 'promise land.' (whatever that may mean to you.)
Some places that offer super fast divorces...
- Nevada
- UK
(For more locations, contact your lawyer)
After you've found a location that suits you both...
1. Ask your lawyer if your state will allow this kind of divorce.
2. If he/she gives you the green light, you're good to go.
3. Fly, Drive, Walk, or RUN (really really fast) to specified location.
4. Follow instructions from there.
Positives and Negatives of Quickie Divorces
Positives
- Faster (obviously)
- Less stressful in the long run
- Cheaper
- No battles
- Agreement of settlements
- Smoother
Negatives
- Less time to 'win spouse back.'
- Less time to make life-changing decisions.
- May not be offered in your area.
- May need money for traveling.
- Quicker changes may be harder on you / kids.
I'm sure there are many more positives / negatives, but this is what I could come up with at 2:00 AM. Lol
Do What's Best!
No matter what route you and your spouse decide to take, I wish you the best of luck. If you do decide to get a quickie divorce, I hope that all goes well.
