Pro Bloggers hide TOP SECRET information!

Every time I read a blog that gives out free blogging tips, make money online tips, SEO tips, or something of that sort I always ask myself,

"Are the authors really giving me all of the information that I need to be successful in every given post, or are they just giving me some average information?"

Here's the deal: No blogger is going to tell you all of their secrets because if they told you their secrets, then they would risk the chance of having their own blog being knocked out of the rankings by another blog. That's one example of at least one thing that could happen anyway.

Experience will teach you :

The only way to truly learn everything or at least the most important things that you need to know is to actually get out there and teach it to yourself.

Rank well on Google - Example :

For instance, you want to know how to rank well on Google. The average online business person knows that for this to be possible, they'll need a lot of inbound links. The "little more than average" online business person knows that you don't need a lot of inbound links to rank well, but instead, you need some quality inbound links to rank well.

Put yourself into a Pro Blogger's shoes :

You obtain knowledge of a secret that allows you to rank #1 on Google - What is the first thing you're going to do? If you're smart, you'll keep the secret to yourself. If you tell anybody about this secret it will surely get out. If everyone is using your strategy it invalidates the process for all blogs are now equally implementing it.

Blog Pro's hide secret information :

Don't expect to learn everything by reading articles or blogs. Instead, try to figure things out for yourself. You may learn something and you may even discover some top secret information that will give you the upper hand over your competition.

So do you really think the Pro Bloggers are telling you everything?

Of course they aren't.

Pro Bloggers hide that top secret information that lead to their success in the first place. Darren Rowse, Matt Cutts, ShoeMoney, and even myself. We all have our own secrets and our own strategies for online success.

Search Engine Ranking is Stuck

Thursday, January 22, 2009

It's driving me crazy because I haven't been able to move up in the rankings for the key term, "Blogging Tips." For about 3 months now it seems that I am just stuck on page two of Google. It seems that I need to build more links. That or use the word, "blogging tips," a little more often.

Are your SERP rankings static?

static search engine ranking serpsIf so, I think I know the way to get us out of this jam.

1. Relevant Content - How is Google supposed to know if your site is about, "cheese," if you don't use the keyword of, "cheese," anywhere in your articles? In my case, how is Google supposed to know that my site gives out, "blogging tips," if I don't use the phrase in any of my articles? (As you can see, I am finally beginning to.)

2. Building Backlinks - Never put your success in the hands of others. Build powerful Ezine, Hub, and Squidoo pages.

3. Special Tip - Link pattern: Ezines --> Hubpage --> Squidoo --> Your site. If you do this, you will build a load of high powerful backlinks to your page. Trust me, it works.

Increase SERPS

Hopefully I begin to rank a little higher for the key phrase blogging tips. I'll try building more content + more relevant content for that matter and we'll see if my rankings increase. If they continue to stay stuck, I will begin to work on building more backlinks.

Blogging Tips : Could you imagine blogs in the 60's?

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Hey dudes. It's been a few days since my last far out post, but I figured I would go ahead and spin you one from a square's point of view.

Blogging Tips : Could you imagine blogs in 60's?

Man. Could you imagine blogging in the 1960's?

Every single blog would be about ____, ____, and ___. I don't know how strict my new advertising program is. I don't want to take the risk of getting banned by saying bad words so I have to use my censorship where it's due. But honestly folks, this blog needs the occasional humor...

Otherwise it begins to sound like,

"Making money online can be quite a challenge. However, I am here to help you through the process. First... "

Then you end up dozing off, pulling your hair out, jumping off a bridge, and falling to your violent Blazery red death. Then you wake up and say, "Oh my gosh I'll just figure it out myself already. Dang. Put me through that.. As if current Rap and Hiphop wasn't bad enough..."

mind of mencia carlosLike Carlos Mencia says, You're going to be fine with 90% of the stuff that you hear. Then there's going to be one thing and you're going be like, "wait a minute," but remember: I'm not the one who killed rap and hip hop.

All fingers pointing at ----> Soldier Boy and Lil Wayne. <-----

Lil Wayne: "I wake up in da mornin' taka piss 'n' wash my hands take a knee 'n' thank the man." NEWS FLASH : Dude. Nobody cares.

pro blogger logoBut honestly folks, blogging in 1963. I'd probably be giving out my blogging tips ____. Darren Rowse's Pro Blogger Symbol would be pretty much the same aside from the fact that he'd have a maple leaf in the middle of it. (I have to be politically correct here.) And instead of, "Pro Blogger," it'd be more like, "Pro ____." You fill in the blank.

Instead of Clickbank it would be Click____. Yep. Blogging in the 1960's. Now that'd be entertaining.

Lol. There aren't any Blogging Tips in this post. This one was just for funsies.

Clicksor vs AdSense

Clicksor Earnings Report

Honestly, it's a joke. Clicksor doesn't even compare to AdSense to the least. I think the only cool thing about Clicksor is the fact that it allows you to host ads freely if you're running an adult based website. Yeah. I guess that's pretty cool if you're into that sort of thing.

Aside from that, Clicksor pays an extremely low amount per click. Actually, Clicksor pays so low it's almost a joke. I mean, how does $4.74 for 84 clicks sound? It sounds like a joke right? Yeah. Just a little bit.

Here are my Clicksor Earnings: Clicksor vs AdSense

With AdSense I make about 50 cents per click. That means, 8 clicks equals $4.00. Whereas I need 80 clicks to make the same amount of money with Clicksor. Pretty awesome right? Yeah. Not so much.

Aside from Earings:

Aside from the earnings, Clicksor is easy to sign up for and it's really easy to implement into any blog or website. Even cooler, Clicksor doesn't have any major rules. It's easy to get approved and everything about it is quite easy to use.

Conclusion:

Although Clicksor isn't a top money earner, it's really a simple program to use. Clicksor especially works well if you are running an adult based website or you're running a website that gets a lot of traffic. If your blog doesn't fall into either category then you're definitely wasting your time with Clicksor.

Pro Blogging is NOT about what you enjoy!

Pro Blogging is NOT about what you enjoy!

Most of you are probably thinking that I simply went off the deep end. Not even anywhere near true. Pro Blogging is not always about what you enjoy. Now, let's not all go crazy and say, "Taylor. You've gone completely out of your mind," because in all honesty, I have done anything but that.

Beginning a Blog :

When you first start a new blog you'll always be given the same advice, "Write about what you enjoy! This will give you the best chance at being successful." Sorry guys. For the longest time I believed this statement was true too. However, it's definitely not true in all cases.

The Truth :

If you start a blog about your favorite topic, the chances are, there will be millions upon millions of other sites already competing for rankings on that topic.

For instance:

  • Celebrities
  • News
  • Sports
  • Fitness
  • Weight Loss
  • Health
  • Acne

The list goes on and on. So now you're wondering, "what's wrong with blogging about those topics?" Nothing really other than the millions upon millions of results that appear above you when you search the phrase.

The key to success :

If you really want to build successful blog after blog then you need to learn to write about different subjects. Your key to success is to search for topics with low competition and a relatively high search volume.

When you use this tactic you won't necessarily find something you actually enjoy writing about. Let's be honest, the chances are that millions of others already write about the topics in which you enjoy.

Searching for low competition - high search volume topics

Choosing a long tail key phrase - Think of something that people will search. Instead of simply writing about, "acne," maybe you can narrow your topic down to, "getting rid of back acne."

Narrowing a topic - The more you narrow down your topic, the easier it will be to rank for that topic. Thus, the more successful you'll likely be. However, don't narrow your topic too much, otherwise you won't get any traffic at all.

Finding a medium - We already know that, "acne," is too hard to rank for. So instead of acne maybe we decide to use the phrase, "Clear skin with Proactiv Solution." Remember, product review blogs do make money.

Tools :

Searching Google for Competition

Searching Google for Competition

The best way to see if your topic or better yet, "keyword phrase," has any competition is to simply search Google for your keyword phrase. Then, in the top right of the page see how many results appeared. If it's under 1,000,000 it will usually be pretty easy to rank for that subject. Better yet, if the results that appear don't really show your keyphrase, it will be really easy to rank for your subject.

Google Insights for Search Amount

Pro Blogging is NOT about what you enjoy!

Google Insights is a great way of comparing two phrases to see how often a phrase gets searched. It's based upon a 1-100 scale. See this page to better be able to comprehend the graph.

Wordtracker Keyword Tool

wordtracker keyword tool

This is my other lover. Not really. However, this is definitely a great tool. I don't know exactly how it works, but I think it tells you how often a keyword phrase is searched everyday.

Making Money Writing :

making money writingPro Blogging is not always writing about what you enjoy writing about. Really, Pro Blogging is all about writing. If you truly want to make money online find some easy to rank for, long tail keyword topics. You may even find that by using long tail keywords you may actually still be able to write what you want to write about.

Product review blogs make money

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Do you want to make loads of money online? Duh! What am I thinking?

If you want to make a great deal of money online, making sites that review specific products is a great way to go about doing so.

Take my site Ultimate Perfect Pushup Review for example. It's made me over $1,000 in a single year. The cool thing is, I haven't really provided any new content for this site since March of 2008. However, it still continues to bring in the money.

How to:

Note: Before I begin, I am assuming you know what blogging is and you've also had some experience with blogging.

So you want to make money blogging by doing product reviews? It's actually quite simple.

  1. Choose a product to review.
  2. See if that product has an affiliate program. A. On Google just search: "the product you're reviewing" affiliate program. B. If not, sign up for Amazon Associates and use that.
  3. Choose a specific set of keywords to aim for. A. Purchase a domain with those keywords. | yourkeywords.com B. For me, I used the keyword: Perfect Pushups and Perfect Pushup Review C. Thus, I purchased the domain: ultimateperfectpushupreview.com

Create content:

Now that you've decided on what product you're going to review and purchased a domain for your blog, it's time to start creating content. In this content you will want to use your keywords as much as possible.

Use your keywords in:

  • Alt tags
  • Title tags
  • Heading tags
  • Finally, throughout the content.

Why should you use your keywords often? The more you use your keywords, the more Google will see your site as having a relevance to what the user is searching. With that being said you should also be sure to do a post everyday and include at your keywords at least 2 times in each post.

Why this is easy:

When people write product reviews they usually only write a page about the product they're reviewing. If you create a whole site based around a simple product, Google will see your site as the top contender. You will rank well on Google almost no matter what.

In final note, be sure to utilize your resources. Be sure to use Youtube to drive targeted traffic to your page. Also, be sure to build backlinks to rank higher in Google in a shorter amount of time!

AdSense ad placement set table comparison

Look at the table to the left. Where are you going to get the majority of your food from? What area of this set layout is going to see the most activity?

The center plate, agreed?

Now, think of your blog and where you place your AdSense advertisements.

1. Are you placing your ads in place of the center plate? 2. Are you placing your ads in the place of your silverware? 3. Are you placing your ads in the place of your cups or somewhere else?

The center plate gets the most activity..

We've already established this correct? If that's the case, don't you think that the same rules should apply when it comes to placing your AdSense advertisements or any other advertisements onto your site?

Put your ads where the chicken is

If your readers are vegetarian you're simply screwed. But for the most part, the chicken on a plate trick should definitely increase your

Make easy money online infomercial scams

Friday, January 09, 2009

Challenging a Commonplace - "Making money online is Easy"

By now, I think that we’ve all seen the infomercials advertising a system that’s said to make us get rich quick with little to no effort at all.

However, based off of a years worth of personal experience, making money online is definitely not an easy task. Sure, it is possible, but definitely not as easy as the infomercials want you to perceive it to be.

To completely understand how the process of making money online works, you first have to understand that people only make money online because of the people who use the internet and visit their webpage. Just like a real business, if you do not have customers you will not make money. The same rules apply for an online business. If you have, ‘no traffic,’ traditionally known as, ‘no customers,’ you will not make money online. It’s really as simple as that.

So we have all of these infomercials that say how easy it is to make money online. They also state that if you simply follow their step by step system, your online business will be successful. Testimonials follow and usually contain between five and ten people that run through and discuss how the system made them, ‘x,’ amounts of money in, ‘x,’ amounts of time.

waikiki beach sunset stripThe location of the shots and the success stories alike are all consistent. The beautiful scenery of Waikiki Beach, Hawaii or Cobo, Mexico. The beautiful sights in the background that literally makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.. Finally, you can place a cherry on the pie with the stories from the testimonials. Oddly enough, you can directly relate to the stories these people spit out.

“My husband left me to raise our three kids on my own. I was working two full time, minimum wage jobs and we could barely get by. That’s when I saw the infomercial for your system. I was skeptical at first, but when I got that first check for, ‘x,’ I knew your system was real. I’ve now quit my two jobs and have made, ‘x,’ amounts of money in, ‘x,’ amounts of time. Let me tell you this… If I can do it, anybody can!”

At this point, we’re all thinking about purchasing this system that will easily make us millions of dollars over the internet. For most of us, the testimonial in itself was enough to convince us to make the purchase. Others begin day dreaming about running across the warm sands of an ocean beach until finally reaching the cool and salty summer ocean water. These dreams slowly fade out as you’re soon consumed by skepticism.

We begin thinking about the possibilities of this system being a scam for if it was really this easy to make millions of dollars online, wouldn’t more people be doing it? Finally, we’re fully set into reality and we realize that the system is simply a scam to make it’s creators money. But then again, what if we’d actually purchased the system? Is it actually that easy to make money online?

Pennies a day, to dollars a day, for over three hours of work a day, for just over a year. I made around $1,900 my first year online and it was nothing but a struggle. To kickoff my online career, I purchased a program that was similar to the, “Make Money Online Quick,” program that I had just described above. In fact, I have purchased a few of these programs to find that they only contained compiled information that I could’ve simply obtained via Google Search Engine.

image credit: monochrome Either way, I decided to follow each of these programs just as they were described. Soon enough, I found out that many of the programs I had actually purchased also contained information and instructions that weren’t exactly for better business practices. I soon decided that if I was going to make any money online, I was going to have to do it my way, while also following tips from free and reliable online sources.

keyboardThat’s when I began doing hours and hours of research. I had to learn how to build my website, make money from my website, market my online business, rank well in Google, and finally, gain a reliable list of customers and readers to purchase my affiliate products and click my ads. As small as this, “to do,” list may seem to be, obtaining the knowledge and information was vigorous.

I spent hours a day simply searching, reading, and watching anything that I believed may help me. Sometimes time was wasted by reading or watching useless material. Other times time was wasted by trying things that simply just would not work. When I finally did find information that was useful, it only helped my business out to a certain extent.

Research slowly increased my customers and subscribers which in turn, slowly increased my earnings. There was no way that making money online was a get rich quick tactic. If anything, making money online was just as difficult as working at an actual job. However, I have to admit that my work hours were pretty awesome because I would work whenever I wanted to. Then again, pay was horrible and it was often inconsistent. I would have days where I would make only a few dollars. Then I had days where I would make around $40.00 or $50.00.

This has lead me to a simple conclusion. Making money online is definitely possible. However, it’s definitely time consuming and it’s definitely not something that will make you as much money as you probably expect. In my eyes, making money online is definitely not a quick or easy task. Maybe the people in those infomercials really did make the big money, but after a year of running my online business, I am yet to see similar results.

I do get every Thursday off. I also get off the weekends. That's 3 days that I can blog. Then of course, I am finally getting used to the sleep patterns.

How to sell more affiliate products

Sunday, January 04, 2009

You think your readers are stupid!

Your readers know what you're doing.

  • You're spicing up that review of yours with a little positive twist. - Your readers know it. Your review is practically pointless.

You can't make an affiliate sale because... Although you're really telling your readers the complete truth about the product you're selling, they will always think otherwise. People aren't stupid.

They know that the product you're selling them is either:

  1. A Scam.
  2. Will make you money.

But Taylor, I am really telling the truth.

Don't tell me. Tell your readers.

Telling your readers you're affiliated

"Say what? Are you serious? You want me... You want me to tell my readers I am trying to make money by selling the product I am reviewing?"

Building Trust By telling your readers that you're affiliated with a product, you will build more

  • Trust
  • Subscribers
  • Links
  • Traffic
  • Authority
  • Sales

How to say you're affiliated with a product

By all means, don't overestimate what I am telling you to do. Don't go out to all of your affiliate based pages and put at the top of that page: "This is an affiliate review," in large bold letters. If you do that, you may as well consider yourself done.

Instead, at the end of the review, put something like the following:

"If you feel like you may enjoy this product, feel free to make your purchase through one of the two links below. The top link is an affiliate link. The bottom link is a regular link. Feel free to purchase this product through whichever link you'd prefer. Also note that the vendor offers a money back guarantee. See this page: ______ for more information about that also."

You just gained a lot of brownie points. Nobody does this and I really can't say that I know why they don't. People are so used to ads these days. Most of the stuff they see and read is perceived by them as untrue.

By putting the little note above at the end of your affiliate based articles, you're giving your readers that much more reassurance that you're a trustworthy source and you're not just out there to make a buck.

Blog posts every other day

Saturday, January 03, 2009

If you don't build back links and if you don't promote your site you will not be a successful blogger.

To some extent that statement is true. I realize that some of you may be disappointed, but I have decided to do blog posts every other day instead of every day here at Video Blogging Tips dot Com. However, this could definitely be a good thing for myself and for you also.

Why?

There are many different reasons why I have decided to do blog posts every other day instead of everyday here at this site.

Here are the reasons:

  1. I will be going to school starting January 5th.
  2. I need time to work on the other blogs that make me more money.
  3. I need extra time to promote my sites and build back links.

Why don't I quit Video Blogging Tips altogether?

You may be wondering why I don't just quit Video Blogging Tips altogether but here's the deal, I love this site and I love giving blogging tips. I enjoy helping others that were once in my position.

Really, it was only one year ago today when I picked up blogging. I know what it's like to work hours on end for little to no money. I built this blog to teach people how to make money and how to be successful online. That's definitely satisfaction enough for me.

Please Note: I do make money just not on this blog. Notice how it's advertisement free?

The Positive

Although I will only be posting only every other day, there is a huge positive to that. Instead of feeling rushed and throwing a post together, I'll actually have time to think about what I want to say and then say it.

I will also have more time to

  1. Answer emails.
  2. Build more backlinks.
  3. Promote my site.
  4. Make more videos
  5. And again, write better articles.

I hope that this doesn't disappoint any of my subscribers and I definitely hope to see you guys back for more video blogging tips.

Your blogging goals 2009

I don't know about you guys, but I am looking to make a few hundred dollars a month this year.

My main money goal would be to hit $1,000 a month by the end of this year, but we all know that for me to meet this goal, I will have to be committed to blogging whenever I have any spare time.

Steering away from Paid Posts

Not to mention the fact that I would really like to steer away from paid posts. In reality, paid posts are a waste of time. With that being said, I would like to try to make most of my money through AdSense, private advertising, and affiliate programs.

I can say that I am proud of myself. From making $1.00 in January to making a maximum of around $400.00 in November really is a huge improvement.

December was a little low due to the holidays, but this really isn't too uncommon. I also decided to steer away from paid posts that month so I am not too surprised with the lower earnings.

My total earnings in 2008 came out to be $1906.26. Overall, I am pretty happy with these earnings, but again, I really want to steer away from the paid posts.

Accomplishing my goals for 2009

The results to the left were expected for 2008. But again, the two things that I should focus on increasing are

1. My affiliate sales. 2. My earnings through AdSense.

In order for me to accomplish my goals I will need to:

1. Write posts every single day. 2. Make more videos. 3. Be consistent. 4. Work hard.

What are your goals?

Do you want to increase your earnings? Do you want to gain more traffic? Do you want to blog a little less - a little more?

Leave your comments below and be sure to vote on the poll in the right sidebar navigation.
